Pembrokeshire branch of the National Autistic Society

The Pembrokeshire Branch of the National Autistic Society was launched on the 1st April 2011. We started as a small group of parents, who felt there was no local support for those affected by autism pre and post diagnosis and we have quickly grown in numbers!

We are a branch of volunteers supported by the National Autistic Society which is the leading UK charity for people with autism (including Asperger syndrome) and their families. The NAS provide information, support and pioneering services, and campaign for a better world for people with autism.

Our aims are:-

  • to support each other and families dealing with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
  • to share information and advice
  • to create more awareness of autism locally
  • to seek to improve services in Pembrokeshire

We meet regularly, organise outings and social events, as well as organise training and events.

Everyone with an interest in autism is welcome to join our group, including:-

  • adults or young people with an autistic spectrum disorder (including Asperger syndrome)
  • families/ carers supporting a child or young person with an ASD (or suspected ASD)
  • grandparents/ extended family and friends
  • professionals working or supporting people with asd
  • parents/ carers of adults or young people on the spectrum
